Lead Software Engineer

As part of this collaboration, we are building a skilled engineering team where this role will contribute directly to designing, developing and enhancing scalable software products.


About the Role :

We are seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer to architect, design and develop mission-critical applications for our U.S. student housing business. This role requires strong hands-on engineering expertise, technical leadership and the ability to guide development teams toward delivering scalable and impactful products. You will:
• Drive architectural decisions, technical strategy and solution design
• Lead and mentor a development team toward engineering excellence
• Collaborate with U.S. and India teams to convert requirements into robust solutions
• Build cloud-native applications leveraging the AWS ecosystem
• Ensure product reliability, maintainability, security and high performance
• Contribute to defining engineering culture, development standards and best practices

Core Responsibilities:
• Architect and design large-scale distributed systems and microservices
• Lead full-cycle development from concept to deployment and maintenance
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for faster and reliable delivery
• Review code, enforce quality benchmarks and drive technical excellence
• Conduct system design reviews and performance evaluations
• Research emerging technologies and guide adoption where beneficial
• Ensure best practices in cloud security, monitoring and automation
• Enable team growth through mentoring, training and skill development
• Communicate progress, risks and technical insights to leadership stakeholders

Required Technical Expertise:
• Strong hands-on experience with .NET (C#, ASP.NET Core)
• Proven experience building cloud-native applications on AWS
• Strong knowledge of AWS services:
- EC2, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, CloudFormation (IaC)
• Solid understanding of CI/CD & DevOps methodologies
• Experience with GitHub repositories, workflows and automation
• Knowledge of secrets management (AWS Secrets Manager / Vault)
• Strong background in relational & NoSQL databases:
- SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB, etc.
• Proven ability to build highly scalable microservices and distributed systems

Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills:

• Front-end / full-stack experience (Node.js, Angular or equivalent)
• Experience with containers & orchestration – Docker, Kubernetes, EKS/ECS
• Strong system design expertise, including caching & API governance
• Excellent problem-solving ability with a focus on performance optimization
• Leadership qualities:
- Ability to guide developers & collaborate with stakeholders
- Effective communication with technical & business teams

Qualifications & Experience:
•    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
• 9–12 years of software development experience with minimum 3+ years in a lead role
• Demonstrated experience in cloud-first application engineering (AWS preferred)
